TheBusiness Continuity Institute (BCI)has released the first in a series of training films designed to help business continuity practitioners improve their performance.

The film, which was launched at this week's Business Continuity Expo in London, was developed by the BCI in association with business continuity education provider Ear Productions.

Lorraine Darke, membership services director at the BCI, said, "Practice Makes Perfect is a professional training film that unravels some of the jargon and mystery surrounding planning and running a business continuity exercise."

She said the film combined BCI good practice guidelines, British business continuity standard guidelines and insight and knowledge from some of the industry's leading experts, including Steve Mellish, head of business continuity for Sainsbury's.

Practice Makes Perfect includes details on how to prepare for business continuity exercises, what to consider in terms of equipment and input, and ways of conducting rehearsals.

Copies of the film and additional information in a DVD format are available from the BCI's website.

The next BCI training film about business impact analysis is already planned and may be released to coincide with the BCI's October symposium in Brighton.
