EMC is to buy UK IT consulting firm Conchango for $84m, in a
move designed to boost its global IT Consulting Services arm and
support UK and European users.
Conchango specialises in the design, development and delivery of
custom
applications for companies such Tesco, Tarmac, Virgin Atlantic
and Sky. EMC said the acquisition will support businesses in the UK
and across Europe, and will expand its information infrastructure
consulting services around the world.
Howard Elias, president, EMC global services and resource
management software group, said, "The addition of Conchango will
significantly expand our global capabilities to design, build and
deliver tightly integrated solutions for our customers' most
critical business applications."
Last year Conchango worked with
Marks & Spencer to integrate Amazon's e- commerce engine
into the retailer's core merchandising system.
