
Accenturehas reported strong growth in its consulting and
outsourcing businesses in its latest financial results, which saw
revenues leap as customers seek toprosper during tough economic conditions.
In its results statement for the second quarter of 2008, the
professional services firm reported an 18% increase in revenue, to
£2.81bn.
Its consulting and
outsourcing revenues reached £1.7bn and £1.13bn, respectively,
which were both 18% up on the same period last year.
Accenture chief executive William Green said the company has
seen its highest-ever consultancy bookings, worth £1.9bn out of
total new bookings worth £2.2bn.
"Our strong performance in the second quarter reflects the
momentum we have seen in the marketplace and the essential nature
of our services, as our clients rely on the value we deliver in
helping them achieve high performance in a challenging economic
environment," said Green.
