A street-light replacement programme in theLondon borough of
Hackneyis being co-ordinated using
software designed for street lighting services.
The
Mayrise
street lighting system provides a single repository for all
information relating to the service, including detailed lighting
unit history, contractor data and customer communications.
"Mayrise already provides an integrated system for recording
asset information in our maintenance and replacement scheme," said
Steve Carroll, team leader for street lighting in the council's
neighbourhoods and regeneration division. "This upgrade means we
can continue to provide safer streets through high-quality street
lighting,"
The council's long-term objective was to improve its working
practices, said Carroll, and it was also working on strategies for
paperless offices, mobile working and remote monitoring.
"Street lighting is one of the council's highly visible
frontline services," he added. "Having the information we need at
click of a button helps us manage our day-to-day operations and
improves the speed with which we can react to faults."
