Brunel University has put in place a newe-mail security systemto tackle an
alarming rise in spam.
Over the past last years, spam levels have risen from 30,000
spam messages a day to up to four million at peak times.
Brunel has turned to Secure Computing's Secure Mail platform to
defend itself against all inbound, outbound and Web 2.0 malicious
messaging attacks.
The system is being used to protect students, researchers and
teaching staff from spam.
Brunel said Secure Mail is rising to the challenge of filtering
legitimate Olympic and sports-related messages on the campus
network from
malicious spam attacks, which now account for 99% of all campus
e-mails.
