London is the world leader when it comes to hosting enterprise Wi-Fi use, with annual usage up 156% in the second half of 2007.

Figures from enterprise Wi-Fi provider iPass confirm London's position, based on the number of Wi-Fi sessions completed on its virtual Wi-Fi network, pieced together from different wireless providers.

Europe overall increased its worldwide share of Wi-Fi hotspot use to 40%, up from 31%.

Europe is now set to overtake the US in Wi-Fi use, said iPass, with the US seeing its percentage of iPass sessions in the second half of the year falling from 59% to 51%.

The top four Wi-Fi locations in order are London, Singapore, Tokyo and New York.
