Serena Software is planning to launch three business
software applications via theSoftware as a Service (SaaS) on demand
channel, to take advantage of users' move to
Web 2.0 technologies.
Serena Mariner (Project and Portfolio Management), Serena
Business Mashups, and Agile Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
tools will all be offered via a
SaaS platform later this year.
SaaS provides significant benefits for companies, with no
infrastructure to manage, no software to install, subscription
pricing, and immediate access to upgrades as they become
available.
Serena Mariner will be available on demand within the next 30
days, said Serena.
Serena Mariner gives business people a way to manage projects
quickly and easily without having to create unwieldy spreadsheets
in Excel, Serena said.
Timescales for the SaaS release of the other products will be
available in the near future, said the supplier.
