The Welsh division of public transport company First Group has introduced in-bus mobile broadband internet connectivity and GPS-based vehicle tracking on the route between Swansea and Cardiff.

First Cymru Buses is using equipment from UK-based Moovera Networks to provide passengers with Wi-Fi internet access at speeds up to 1.8mbps and real-time vehicle location and monitoring.

Justin Davies, managing director at First Cymru said, "We are the first operator in Wales to adopt the technology across a dedicated route and fleet of coaches."

The system connects to Vodafone UK's 3G high-speed packet access mobile broadband network.
