Savoury pastry products supplier Pork Farms is
implementing anERP systemtailored for thefood and beverage industryto improve
visibility of business processes at a lower cost of
ownership.
The company wanted to increase operational efficiency by
optimising production through monitoring costs in real-time and
maintaining detailed traceability throughout its supply chain.
Pork Farms is using Lawson QuickStep for Food and Beverage and
Lawson Business Intelligence because, as a system developed for the
industry that Pork farms operates in, it was easier and faster to
implement.
Alan Webster, chief information officer at Pork Farms, said,
"This way, we will benefit from maximum utilisation because of the
good fit of the software to the business and a lowered total cost
of ownership by cutting implementation time by more than 50%."
He said this would translate into cost savings in terms of
consultancy fees, faster return on investment and reduced risk.
The system is scheduled to go live in May 2008 and will run on
IBM iSeries to support 500 users across the company, which produces
three million savoury pastry products every week.
