The Welsh Assembly is to secure more than 700 network security devices as part of a programme to drive improvements in public service delivery and inter-agency working.

The project aims to protect the network from increasingly sophisticated threats and ensure that highly sensitive data, such as citizen records, is safe.

Dns will play a part in the seven-year £74m Welsh Assembly Public Sector Broadband Aggregation project as a sub-contractor to Logicalis.

As part of the contract, dns will manage the network's 700-plus security devices using its Managed Firewall & VPN service, and will provide its managed content security service to ensure safe web browsing on the internet.

Dns will also provide its Managed Strong Authentication service to allow secure authentication to the network for particular user groups.
