High Peak council in Derbyshire is improving the performance of itsrevenues and benefitsdepartment with a system that promises to deliver over £1m-worth ofefficiency savings.

The solution includes integrated document image processing (DIP) and workflow to increase productivity and create efficiency gains in excess of £1m over a ten year period.

High Peak is using the Openrevenues and Openworkflow systems from IBS Opensystems in its revenues and benefits department. Openrevenues is going live at High Peak this month for 70 users.

David Johnson, assistant chief executive for business efficiency at High Peak, said, "Our previous system was a mixture of in-house and bought-in systems which required upgrading. The systems were not integrated and many required a complete re-write. We wanted a completely integrated revenues and benefits suite which ideally included DIP and workflow."

He said, "We liked the new system's flexibility and the total integration of the DIP and Workflow. Openrevenues also includes a sundry debtors system which focuses all our recovery work within one business unit."
