Dell launches storage assessment and consulting business to deliver rapid deployments

Dell has unveiled a range of assessment and consulting services to help firms analyse and rapidly deploy the storage systems they need.

The Dell Storage Simplification Assessments portfolio is a globally-consistent set of offerings designed to simplify the evaluation and selection of storage, backup, recovery and archiving environments.

The new offerings will help customers improve the management and scalability of their storage and backup infrastructure, whilst helping them cope with the dramatic increase in the volume of data in traditional and virtualised settings, said Dell.

Dell said assessments could be completed in days rather than weeks. Doug Chandler, an analyst at IDC, said, "The steps Dell is taking to provide an end-to-end storage portfolio that simplifies the storage market for customers are compelling."
