The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is bringing in
external consultants tobenchmark its investment in new systemsand ensure its IT processes and controls are in line with
industry standards.
In its
Business Plan 2008/9, published last week, the financial
services watchdog outlined its plans to analyse progress on an IT
transformation programme that started in August 2005.
"To measure our progress in transforming our IT function, we are
benchmarking ourselves against our peers through a series of
independent benchmark assessments by external consultants to
confirm to what extent the FSA has appropriately mature IT
processes, controls and whether these are implemented properly by
our staff," said the FSA.
