Epson unveils secure printing for shared offices

Epsonhas released aprint security and authenticationproduct for shared offices.

EpsonNet Authentication Print aims to prevent a document being seen or picked up by anyone other than the individual who sent it to print.

The system is compatible with most Epson mono and colour laser printers and allows print jobs to be safely held at the individual computer or on the server until the document owner has swiped a card at the print station.

The system is primarily aimed at departments such as human resources, finance, accountancy and legal, along with government or defence establishments.

EpsonNet Authentication Print uses the standard Epson printer driver to to install quickly and easily. Epson said the existing printing process was not affected.

Based on the EpsonNet Service Platform, EpsonNet Authentication Print can be tailored for existing staff access, proximity or contact-less smartcards.
