London Connects, thee-governmentgroup for the capital,
has agreed to work in partnership with two other local
organisations to make greater efficiency gains.
London Connects will soon start work on an efficiency strategy
with Capital
Ambition, the improvement partnership for public sector
authorities in London, and the
London Centre of Excellence,
a regional lead organisation for local government efficiency.
The co-operative strategy is driven by the
National Improvement and Efficiency Strategy, produced for
councils by the
Department of
Communities and Local Government.
This strategy advocates that improvement bodies and centres for
excellence should work in regional partnerships as a way of
achieving combined service improvements and efficiency gains.
London Connects attracts mainly public sector technologists,
while Capital Ambition has wider support among chief executives and
members of local councils.
