Londonis launching amasters degree in computer games technologyfor graduates who want to pursue a career in the thriving
industry of computer games development.
The MSc will be offered by City's School of Informatics from
September this year, and builds on the School's BSc in the same
subject.
It is designed for graduates of computing-related degrees who
want to develop their career in the games industry, as well as
those who wish to update their skills.
Head of City's Department of Computing, Andrew Tuson, said,
"This MSc covers both game-specific topics and key professional
skills that will allow students to apply games technologies in an
industrial context.
"It also includes a project component, which gives students the
opportunity to carry out an extended piece of work at the cutting
edge of games technology, in an industrial or academic
context."
Graduates will be provided with the skills they need to fulfil a
number of professional areas in the computer games industry,
including graphics, audio, physics, artificial intelligence,
simulation and game engines.
The MSc can be studied on a full or part-time basis, and
students on the course will also have the option to undertake six
month's industry experience through City's internship option.
