
Dell andMicrosofthave joined the product RED
brand, and will be selling computers to help raise money to tackle
Aids in Africa.
The Dell PCs will be powered by
Windows Vista and will be available in the UK from January
31.
RED was launched in 2006 and is a brand designed to engage
business and consumer power in the fight against Aids in
Africa.
Sale of products has so far contributed more than £27m to
projects in Rwanda, Swaziland and Ghana.
For each purchase of a RED branded computer, Dell and Microsoft
will make a combined contribution of £26 to the fund, which will
buy nearly four months' worth of antiretroviral treatment for an
individual.
