RIM has enhanced its Blackberry server platform and client software with messaging, collaboration, management, security and application development improvements.

RIM said the updates will benefit end-users, IT departments and developers, and will enable organisations to increase mobility, productivity and return on investment.

Mike Lazaridis, Co-CEO at RIM, said, "The software enhancements will make Blackberry smartphones more powerful than ever and even easier to manage."

The new BlackBerry platform enhancements are scheduled to be phased in to new software releases during the first half of 2008.
