Hilton Hotels has awarded a three-year contract to ILX
Group to provide financial and commercial e-learning courses for
more than 65,000 staff, including IT managers across Europe, the
Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The hotel group said IT managers were being offered financial
training along with all other managers because it was a competence
that could help IT managers to qualify for more senior positions in
future.
ILX has already trained 17,000 Hilton Hotels staff using a
blended approach, which combines e-learning with classroom training
and individual mentorship.
Hossam Haggag, director of learning and development at Hilton
Hotels, said ILX would enable the hotel group to offer more than
10,000 courses a year in seven languages without increasing the
training staff within the organisation.
"This allows us to match the most appropriate learning methods
to individuals and specific topics and results in a more efficient
use of our in-house resources," said Haggag.
Hilton Hotels plans to expand its e-learning programme to give
its 100,000 staff around the world access to training programmes in
their native language.
