LondonIT salariescontinue to outstrip those
in other parts of South East England, according to a report by an
IT recruitment agency.
The
CV Screen agency's analysis of 4,000 positions found that
salaries had increased by 4.3% in the past 12 months, compared with
3.4% elsewhere in the region.
"There is obviously a premium attributed to working in London
and the survey shows that salaries are 15% higher than the rest of
the South East," said Alex Lawson, London account manager at CV
Screen.
Lawson said the London job market remained strong with the
average permanent IT salary in the city at £38,577.
He said even though commentators were predicting a downturn in
the coming year, early indications were that the IT job market was
holding up well with the initial demand for staff being high.
