
The British Computer Society has acquired skills
management consultancyi-2-kto expand its portfolio of consultancy and services
products in support of itsProfessionalism
in IT programme.
The company will become a core element in the society's
expanding range of consultancy services and assist in delivering
its professionalism programme.
BCS chief executive David Clarke said, "We are delighted to
offer organisations that are developing greater professional
delivery of their IT capabilities the CPD [continuing professional
development] services provided by the i-2-k team.
"i-2-k is able to support an organisation's management-led
transformation of its professional capabilities across all areas,
using an individual or team coaching approach. This enables clients
to implement a transformation quickly and in a more sustainable
way.
"Because i-2-k's CPD network is already based around the
Skills Framework for the
Information Age, this will fit closely with the BCS's existing
qualification and career development products."
i-2-k has become a wholly-owned BCS group subsidiary. Marcus
Harris continues as managing director of the company.
Harris said, "Over the past six years we have developed an
innovative framework for managing and delivering CPD within IT
departments. This process ensures IT professionals develop soft,
process, commercial and technical skills in equal measure which are
now required to meet the needs of our rapidly changing
profession."
