IT salaries in the south east region increased by 3.4%
over the past 12 months according to specialistIT
Recruitment Agency CV Screen.
The data obtained from the analysis of advertisements over the
past three months of 2007, looked at more than 2,500 advertised
positions and compared the results with CV Screen's IT salary
survey of the corresponding time in 2006.
The survey, which is the first of CV Screen's regional surveys
to be released, looks at
IT Jobs in the
following counties - Surrey, Kent, Essex, Bedfordshire,
Hertfordshire and Sussex - and concluded that the average permanent
IT salary in the south east region is £33,513.
Regional account manager Jason Price commented on the findings
"We have been experiencing continuing high demand for IT staff in
2007 and anticipated that there would be upward pressure on IT
salaries in the region and so it has proved."
Price said "Our expectation is that the IT Jobs market in the
South East region will remain buoyant in 2008, with
continuing
skills shortages in areas such as PHP, Citrix, .net and
Java."
