decision-making and support the delivery of essential council
services.
The full-colour GeoPerspectives aerial archive has been supplied
to Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottingham City Council, six out
of the seven Nottinghamshire district councils, and Nottinghamshire
Police.
Purchased from aerial survey specialist BlueSky, the system is
being used in areas such as planning and the preparation of police
operations.
At Nottinghamshire County Council, the system is available to
every desktop via an intranet-based geographical information
system.
"The GeoPerspectives aerial photography is a natural addition to
our existing map bases," said Julian Walters, project leader at
Nottinghamshire County Council.
"It provides an up to date, highly detailed view of the county
for applications as diverse as archaeological investigations,
monitoring of mineral extraction and waste disposal sites, and
accident analysis by the communities department."
