Polar bears in Canada are being tracked by remote cameras linked via an IP network to increase awareness of their dwindling numbers.
Conservation group Polar Bears International is using RealVNC's virtual network computing technology to control the cameras. SeeMore Wildlife Systems set up the IP-based network of digital microwave links. The network transmits pictures back to a control centre in Churchill, Manitoba.
Pictures can be viewed on the Polar Bears International website.
