TheHighways Agencyhas outsourced the
management of IT toAtos Originwith a £75m, five-year
contract to save at least 15% of its IT budget.
Atos Origin will provide a service desk and maintenance of IT
facilities used by 2,500 employees as well as ongoing management of
software applications.
Chris Price, service review manager at the Highways Agency, said
as a public sector organisation, it is essential that the Highways
Agency makes the best use of public funds. "Following a thorough
procurement and evaluation process, Atos Origin demonstrated the
capability to deliver improved services - and service levels - to
staff, along with demonstrable efficiencies resulting from
technological innovations."
More than 120 staff and contractors will
transfer to the outsourcer.
