TheDepartment for Culture, Media and Sporthas signed a £14m contract with IT services company Atos
Origin.
The contract continues a 15-year
outsourcing relationship between the two, meaning
Atos Origin will continue to support the Department for
Culture, Media and Sport in staging the 2012 Olympic games.
The company will deliver and manage all IT infrastructure and
services. They will include lower energy technologies in their work
and will also manage all applications support and development.
Mark O'Neill, CIO at the department, said, "Following a
competitive tender, we selected Atos Origin because it demonstrated
the solution that would best meet our needs and enable us to meet
our strategic priorities as we aim to improve the cultural and
sporting life for all.
"We have worked with the company since 1993 and have been
impressed by their commitment to deliver and their strong
understanding of our business needs."
