OnRelayhas been granted a patent for
itsmobile
branch exchange(MBX) software in Europe
(Patent No 1374609), adding to existing patents in the US,
Singapore and Australia.
MBX is the only known system that allows a mobile phone to
completely replace a desk phone.
The MBX patent covers the fundamental MBX system architecture
and all basic call flows of the MBX system, including its seamless
routing of mobile calls in both directions via
private branch
exchange (PBX) systems.
British firm OnRelay recently secured extra investment capital
to commercialise its technology internationally.
The core of the MBX patent is OnRelay's underlying Telephony
Internetworking Protocol (TINP).
TINP is based on end-to-end separation of telephony signalling
and transport across multiple standards, operators and network
boundaries.
TINP is a new way of allowing mobile phones to seamlessly
interconnect with PBX switches and corporate IP telephony servers
on a global scale in an operator independent manner.
