Service oriented architecture (SOA)projects are in danger of failing to fulfil their potential
through lack of governance, a survey of IT directors has
found.
Nearly three quarters (72%) of IT directors believe that
SOA governance is insufficiently addressed or understood within
their organisation.
Software AG commissioned a survey of 100 senior IT directors
across a range of industries on SOA projects.
The results showed that 96% of UK organisations place SOA among
their top five IT spending priorities over the next 12 months, so
the lack of governance is worrying, said Software AG.
Software AG has called for IT departments and business leaders
in organisations to work closer together from day one on SOA
projects to make them work.
