Trafford Councilhas set up an online
benefit processing system for residents.
The council has contracted
IBS OPENSystems to provide a set of online benefits application
forms.
The forms will enable local residents and agencies to apply for
housing and council tax benefit and report changes in circumstances
electronically.
IBS is providing an interface for the application form to
populate claim details directly into the processing system.
The online system is designed to help the council improve
customer service and generate efficiency savings, and allow the
council to reduce the time spent re-keying claimant
information.
Peter Mather, head of revenues and benefits at Trafford Council,
said, "The online application will help us deliver new services for
residents. Using the application, we will be able to provide
residents with an assisted service for benefit claims through the
authority.
"It will make the whole process more efficient and change the
way we interact with residents. The partnership with IBS
OPENSystems will enable us to achieve more efficient working
practices," he said.
