Thecollege of Richard Collyerhas
replaced a patchwork of network equipment with technology from the
SAS group in an overhaul to support its planned
growth.
The sixth-form college in West Sussex requires a network to
support 500 PCs, interactive whiteboards, streaming large media
files as well as providing internet connections.
Prior to the upgrade the college used a communications network
that had evolved over time, although it was unreliable and
incapable of supporting planned growth.
"The frequent network problems were causing us serious headaches
and affecting our teachers' ability to do their jobs," said Peter
Swift, IT manager at the college. "Working with the
SAS Group we were able to identify the root cause of the
problems and put in place a new infrastructure plan on a sensible
schedule, that gave us the resilience we need today, plus the
flexibility to change and grow in the future."
