Aster Property Management has implemented an integrated
enterprise andmobile workforce management system,
expected to save the company £500,000 a year.
The system is the result of a project to integrate
Cognito's mobile workforce management and
Xmbrace's workforce scheduling systems with Aster Property
Management's existing repair information management system from
ROCC.
Aster Property Management chose Cognito and Xmbrace as the best
systems to meet the company's needs and approached the software
companies to ensure the three systems worked together in an
integrated way.
Aster Property Management is part of the Aster Group and is
responsible for maintaining more than 10,000 homes in Wiltshire and
Hampshire.
"Although we are looking for improved productivity and
efficiency, there will also be unquantifiable gains through
improved quality of service," said Julian Paine, corporate projects
manager at Aster Group.
In the first phase of the project, 50 builders, electricians,
joiners and other remote building staff have been equipped with
mobile devices.
The three-way system will enable Aster to eventually communicate
with its 120 repair teams through mobile devices and allocate jobs
based on geographical location to increase efficiency, flexibility
and reduce paperwork and distances travelled by teams.
"This will reduce transport costs as well as boost productivity
by enabling each team to do more repairs each day," said Paine.
The integration project has led to a partnership between Cognito
and ROCC to provide integrated mobile and back office systems for
housing repair companies.
