Law firmsare not tapping into the
full potential of technology to add value to the business,
according to asurvey of lawyers by UK legal firm Kemp
Little.
The online survey of in-house lawyers at 114 multinational
companies found that most respondents were enthusiastic about the
potential for technology and thought law firms could try harder
with their websites.
Less than 10% could access billing updates on their firms'
websites, but over half said they wanted this functionality.
The survey found that most law departments use technology to
enable lawyers to work from home, with
mobile technology well established.
Although 46.5% said technology made their working lives more
satisfying, 56% said technology had led to longer working
hours.
