Law firm Taylor Wessing has replaced its e-mail archival
server with a web-based service fromMimecast.
Tim Hyman, head of IT operations at Taylor Wessing, said the
firm had outgrown its archival server within two years of
purchase.
"The Mimecast service allows us to offload all the hassle of
capacity planning for the next ten years without giving up any
control as we can search, retrieve and manage all e-mails from our
desktop," he said.
The switch to the archival service comes 18 months after the law
firm implemented
Mimecast's software-as-a-service e-mail management service for
1,200 users in offices in the UK, France, Germany and Belgium.
Hyman said the firm had chosen the e-mail service because it
combined e-mail security with business continuity by enabling a
continuous service that was unaffected by power failures or server
downtime.
He said by opting for the archival service, the firm had been
able to consolidate its servers and suppliers for e-mail storage,
security and continuity into one.
