National Expressis about to unveil a
smarter web-based airport transfer service in London.
Next month, National Express Group will launch the dot2dot
airport service. The service will operate between
Heathrow and Gatwick airports and central London hotels.
IT services company Concentra is providing the enabling web
technology. Concentra is working closely with user-centred design
consultancy CADinteractive, to produce a simple, self-service web
experience for passengers.
With a maximum of four stops on any route for each shuttle, at
half the price of a taxi, the service allows travellers to travel
in comfort with less hassle than many other routes into central
London, said National Express.
The www.dot2.com offering is a door to door service, with the
site collecting all the details of when and where passengers wish
to travel, and preparing a tailor-made itinerary to meet their
requirements.
The website also advises passengers when they should travel,
dependant on their location and flight details.
The website takes advantage of web services technology to
integrate with National Express' dot2dot fulfilment systems.
Matthew Lovering, dot2dot business development director, said,
"Dot2dot will offer a smarter option for travel between central
London and Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.
"Our website is a key part of achieving this. With our customers
needs at the heart of the process we want to make the online
experience simple."
The National Express Group is launching dot2dot on 1
November.
