government'sGet Safe
Onlinecampaign, ready for the campaign's
web-safety week on 12-16 November.
GetSafeOnline.org is a joint government and industry initiative
that provides a one-stop shop for free, independent, expert advice
aimed at helping individuals and small businesses protect
themselves against web threats such as viruses,
spam, spyware and online fraud.
John Brigden, Symantec senior vice-president at Symantec for
Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said, "In the latest Symantec
Internet Security Report, we reported that the home user accounted
for 95% of all targeted attacks.
"Symantec fully supports the Get Safe Online campaign. We are
pleased to be part of a drive that recognises not only the need to
help educate the consumer, but also the unique challenges faced by
micro and small businesses."
Symantec experts will be part of the 2007 Get Safe Online Week
during 12-16 November, providing advice on how to best protect
users' PCs from attack.
The Get Safe Online campaign was started three years ago.
