Cheshire Peaks & Plains Housing Trust is improving
its housing management and cutting costs by half with a £400,000
system fromIBSOpenSystems.
Under the agreement, IBS will provide Cheshire Peaks &
Plains Housing Trust with an integrated housing management and
repairs system.
The system will enable the trust to reduce software licence and
support costs by half.
Cheshire Peaks & Plains Housing Trust began operating in
July 2006, following the transfer of nearly 5,000 homes from
Macclesfield Borough Council.
IBS OpenSystems' OpenHousing, OpenContractor and OpenMobile
software will enable the trust to record housing information in
real time and streamline business processes across departments.
It will support 40 users and enable staff to handle housing
repair requests and complaints of anti-social behaviour more
effectively.
Cheshire Peaks & Plains Housing Trust will also deploy
around 50 handheld personal digital assistants (PDAs) for its field
engineers.
The handheld PDAs will enable all repair work on housing stock
to be tracked and recorded automatically. This will reduce
administration time and result in more repairs being completed on
time.
Simon Penaluna, head of ICT at Cheshire Peaks & Plains
Housing Trust, said, "When the Trust began operation last year, we
inherited lots of different systems, which resulted in
inefficiencies.
"We needed to find an IT partner that would enable us to deliver
services more efficiently. Working with a trusted IT partner will
enable us to reduce our support and licence costs by more than
half."
