Tiscali opens the broadband door to larger SMEs

Tiscali, the broadband, telephone and media company, has unveiled a ten-line broadband product aimed at the larger scale SME community. 

Available from Tiscali Business Services, the so-called premium broadband product, is claimed by the company as the first to offer guaranteed voice quality over broadband with enhanced care and SLAs to support carrier class voice services.

Voice Ready Broadband (VRB) is offered as part of the Tiscali Wholesale Connectivity ADSL product set, designed specifically for resellers wishing to provide guaranteed quality services to support real time applications such as voice over ADSL, video streaming and video conferencing.

Tiscali describes VRB as the first service of its type to offer SLA backed, guaranteed voice quality over broadband with enhanced care to support carrier class voice services.  The SLAs are on latency, jitter and packet loss, all of which are crucial to the quality of a voice call over a single broadband line. These guarantees are sadi to be cost-effective alternatives to traditional PSTN and ISDN based services.

 “Voice Ready has already proven to be extremely popular with SMEs and our intention with this latest development is to bring the benefits of Premium Broadband to companies with larger and more demanding communications requirements,” explained Lance Spencer, Tiscali Business Services Product & Marketing Director.  “We can now support up to ten standard telephone channels across a single DSL line which means that the cost is very attractive and the product itself is comprehensive and highly flexible.”
