The Midlands Co-operative Society has improved the speed
and accuracy of processing orders, delivery notes and invoices by
implementing a managedelectronic data interchange (EDI)service.
"We wanted to achieve operational efficiencies, speed up
communications and reduce errors so that we can focus on providing
a superior service to our stores," said Barry Hodge, project
manager at the Midlands Co-op operative Society.
Midlands Co-operative Society chose electronic trading service
from
Freeway Commerce using their Spectrum Enterprise EDI software
because of its flexibility, secure document archiving capability,
and ease of integration with existing IT systems.
Choosing a system that is hosted and managed off-site means the
Co-op does not have to devote time and resources with managing the
e-commerce platform that automates the whole process from
purchasing to payment.
The three-year deal includes a managed implementation and
roll-out to all of the Co-op's suppliers, including smaller and
occasional suppliers who can access the trading system online using
Web Forms.
