Optimising production efficiencies, including analysis
of the role of IT, is to be one of the key areas of focus at next
month'sEuropean Manufacturing
Strategies (EMS) Summit 2007in
Germany.
The third annual EMS summit is to be held in the city of
Düsseldorf. Starting 4 October, the two-day event will be chaired
by the UK's Warwick Manufacturing Group digital product lifecycle
management director, Darek Ceglarek.
A highlight of this year's event will be a tour of BMW's
production plant in Leipzig where a limited number of delegates
will have the opportunity to see how the manufacturer has adopted
cutting edge technology and best practice to increase efficiencies
and maximise output.
The event features speakers from more than 20 European
organisations, including several from the UK, and according to
organisers is set to attract leaders in manufacturing, production,
and supply chain from across the European, Middle East and African
region.
Event organisers,
World Trade Group, said the programme is aimed at delegates
from a wide range of sectors related to manufacturing, production
and supply chain, including IT, computer hardware semiconductors,
chemical, pharmaceutical, healthcare, food, and aerospace.
This year's EMS summit will include a presentation from
Volkswagen on managing
globalisation, Lear Corporation on the key principles behind
just-in-time manufacturing, and Pfizer on improving methodologies
and product quality in the face of regulatory demand in the
pharmaceutical industry.
Saint Gobain Glass, Tryton Foods, Masterfoods, PA Consulting,
and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply are among the
UK organisations to be represented.
