Allianz Insurance adopts new electronic trading platform

Allianz Insurance has gone to Kewill to host and manage a new electronic trading platform for its personal lines division.

The Kewill InsuranceXchange (KIX) platform will allow Allianz Personal to deliver the benefits of straight-through processing to its entire network of brokers and intermediaries.

KIX will enable Allianz to electronically communicate with its distribution channel by providing a single communication platform supporting modern connectivity routes such as AS2.

Allianz has just started implementing KIX within its personal lines business partner community and full roll out to all partners will be completed within three months.

Julie Cutmore, electronic trading manager for Allianz Personal, said, "Kewill's knowledge of the insurance market and its understanding of our own specific needs combined with its ability to simplify and improve our communication platforms was the deciding factor in choosing this system."

Allianz recently signed a £274m IT outsourcing deal with Fujitsu.
