The Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT) media group is
replacing and consolidating the financial systems of its two
largest divisions as part of a plan to standardise and modernise
the back-office systems.
The group's Associated Newspapers and
Northcliffe Media are to replace their existing
Coda and
Sun finance packages with the
Agresso Business World system.
Matt Page, DMGT programme director, said, "The Agresso system
will enable us to share knowledge and expertise between divisions,
allowing us to implement improved best practice processes that are
more efficient, automated and effective."
DMGT is to implement a number of Agresso modules, including core
financials, purchasing, reporting, fixed assets, travel expenses
and workflow to standardise processes across 20 different
businesses that previous used a variety of legacy systems.
Page said DMGT had conducted a thorough comparison of products
on the market and had chosen Agresso because it met the highest
number of requirements.
"Agresso also offered a high level of flexibility to accommodate
business change and the company was willing to work in partnership
with DMGT to strengthen some areas of core modules using DMGT's
specifications," Page said.
