R&M Electrical Group has awarded a £300,000 contract
to business-specific software supplierInforto achieve international stock
visibility and provide online product certification.
R&M Electrical, which supplies electrical equipment to the
commercial, industrial, and oil and gas sectors, will deploy Infor
Distribution Essentials to give a single and real-time view of its
inventory to 120 users in 13 locations worldwide.
The company said it had chosen Infor's Distribution Essentials
based on its ability to set up new sites quickly, its
business-specific functionality for electrical distributors, and
recommendations by other members of the UK's Associated National
Electrical Wholesalers group.
"By using infor's Distribution Essentials, stock levels and
orders will be visible to our company branches throughout the world
to help us to increase our customer service levels," said William
Cook, finance director at R&M Electrical Group.
The system will also enable R&M's divisions that supply
certified products to the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors to
provide global access to all certification in an electronic format
so the documentation can be easily found, collated, presented and
stored for regulatory compliance.
R&M's cable distribution company in Bristol is scheduled to
be the first site to go live on Distribution Essentials in late
2007. The system will then be deployed to the company's other
sites.
Infor recently announced
