TheNational Audit
Officehas offered an estimate of the IT costs
of the Olympic Games in a report released on July 20.
The Commons
Public Accounts Committee revealed earlier this month that IT
had not been budgeted for when London's bid was made. The overall
budget has been revised from £3.3bn to £9.3bn.
The MPs were probing a £900m increase on the original figure,
which included £400m towards the costs of an IT system for the
planned Olympic Park.
The report also said that the "

Authority's programme management costs have increased from £16m
to £570m, and the NAO said £132m of this was for "IT, rent, other
property, communications and other overheads, plus a relatively
small amount for planning development control covering the running
of the Delivery Authority's planning authority function".
