Microsoft's appealto a European Union
court over the 2004anti-trust judgementwill receive a
decision on 17 September, reports Reuters.
A Reuters report in June said the judge handling the case would
deliver his verdict on the day he retired.
Despite Microsoft being obliged to implement the measures
outlined in the 2004 judgement while it appeals, the company has
failed to do so.
As a result, on top of the original fine, the firm has been
fined a for second time for not complying.
A third fine is also possible ahead of the 17 September appeal
judgement. The firm has not made its workgroup server protocols
available to competitors, which was a condition of the
original judgement.
