The football Premier League is saving cash with a new
electronic system to improve
document management.
The electronic document management platform, from Easy
Software, was recommended as way of coping with a pending office
move looming.
Simon Thunder, head of IT at the Premier League, said: “We were
aware of the benefits of reducing paper storage not only because of
the physical space that it takes up and the costs per square foot,
but also the implication of loss through fire or flood or some
other disaster.
“The finance department was an obvious starting point as we were
storing thousands of supplier invoices, sales invoices, and
expenses sheets and these were predominantly on paper. Simply
storing these electronically and linking them to our finance and
expense management system would make for significant cost and
efficiency savings,” he said.
The Premier League sought the advice of Easy partner
Touchstone Group, a software supplier for business and
financial management, who had supplied its
Microsoft Dynamics GP accounts system.
