Betbrokers, an independent betting brokerage, has
contracted the Sapphire Group to support its business management
processes from Russia.
After completing BrokerBet2, a trading and support system,
Betbrokers chose the Sapphire Group to provide continuing support
and development from St Petersburg.
The
trading system allows brokers to constantly monitor client
accounts. BetBroker expects it to support its plans for internet
and mobile services, due to launch in early 2008.
Betbrokers, based in Canary Wharf, needed the system to support
both the retail and wholesale sports betting with brokerage,
settlement, risk management, clearing-house services as well as
data and analysis tools, largely because it has to comply with
financial services regulations.
Carl Whitehead, IT director at Betbrokers, said that Sapphire Group
met all the requirements of the growing brokerage. He said that the
company’s Russian developers were higher quality, more motivated
and more cost-effective than UK-based providers. The nine-month
implementation was managed by Sapphire’s project team in Romford,
while development and support stems from St. Petersburg.
The Sapphire Group developed a business-management system based
on a model used by the financial markets. Betbrokers also provides
wholesale clients, including bookmakers and betting exchanges with
a risk-management service.
