Vodafone has launched its secure
remote access security software for mobile enterprise users -
the latest in a series of announcements as it continues to enter
the ICT space for providing end-to-end
mobile applications.
Vodafone Secure Remote Access is designed to allow remote
workers with laptops or desktop PCs to connect securely to their
office computer systems via one user interface and from multiple
worldwide access technologies - including
mobile broadband,
fixed dial-up and ISDN, public and private Wi-Fi, hotel
broadband and home broadband.
“Changing working patterns are resulting in the increasing use
of remote access from an ever-widening range of locations, networks
and devices,” said Kyle Whitehill enterprise director of Vodafone
UK.
The company is looking to extend its capabilities as a mobile
operator, to cater for the total communications needs of its
enterprise customers. In
March 2007 it launched the Vodafone Applications Service - a
new Vodafone offering that mobilises enterprise applications onto
handheld smart devices.
