Global re-insurer Swiss Re has standardised on Secure Computing’s Webwasher to enable it to set security policies and define practices at the network gateway.
The global re-insurer, which employs 10,000 people in 30 countries, choose the web and e-mail filtering product to replace an open source system with numerous point products.
Christian Bai, senior systems engineer at Swiss Re, said: “The main reason we changed was because the last product was built on an open source platform and lacked some features and we wanted to finely tune the access rights of the users,” said Bai.
The system filters internet traffic, blocks increasingly sophisticated inbound threats such as spyware, phishing and other malware, and guards against outbound threats such as data leaks.
