Leek United Building Society is backing up its
internet connection through dual points of contact as part of a
broad internet and security review.
The financial services company, which employs 174 people in 12
sites across Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire is
implementing two separate connections from two locations, which are
load balanced.
Peter Excell IT development team leader at the company said its
business relies heavily on the internet and wanted to ensure its
disaster recovery strategy was more than just in place for a
disaster.
“Apart from security we are looking at the resilience of our
internet connections. We are keen that our back up systems are not
just waiting for disaster recovery but are something that we can
use during normal business,” said Excell.
As part of the review the company has also implemented an e-mail
managed service from Mimecast, which is delivered by reseller
Network Defence.
