Accenture is to invest more than £125m over
the next three years to expand its technology consulting
capabilities.
The £8.5bn management consultancy and systems integration firm
said it aims to help clients develop IT strategies that deliver
“measurable business outcomes”.
These include standardising, virtualising and securing their IT
infrastructures and applications; improving worker productivity;
and implementing new applications based on
service oriented
architecture (SOA).
Accenture chairman & CEO William Green said, “Aligning IT
with business strategy has, once again, become a top issue for
companies worldwide.”
Focus areas for the future will be IT consolidation and
“
green computing” coupled with anytime, anywhere access to
corporate information, databases, e-mail and applications, it
said.
According to Mindbench, a specialist research firm, demand for
consulting services is rising 10-15% a year, with some firms
expecting a 30% increase. UK demand is the result of staff
attrition at consulting firms and a lack of skills in cities such
as London, according to a new CBI/KPMG survey.
